We were in Zagreb during winter. Were told that there was not much to see as it is more famous for its summer vacation sights but Zagreb did not disappoint. The Chrismas market was great,the city is always alive with music,laughter and just people having fun. The city was nicely decorated. Some days were foggy so it's hard to appreciate it's beauty by camera.

Some days were sunny and the view is stunning. I actually enjoyed the people there more than the city,not that the city is not great but after touring some countries in Europe,you can feel the difference. The people there are really helpful,very friendly,almost everyone speaks English.

People come up to you randomly,striking up conversations,asking where are you from,recommend places to go and with very nice things to say. Even if it's just a minute long conversation. They'd even offer a helping hand when you're just standing there puzzled with your city map without being asked. I felt very much welcome to their country.

A very clean and organized with good public transport during the day city. It keeps their traditions but at the same time very European. Because of the Christmas season, parks and squares are decorated for the holidays with live concerts and special activities, Christmas living on the street. Its people very friendly. Many museums and historical monuments to visit.

A city that surprises!!! Zagreb has gone all out during the Christmas period with the downtown area transforming into a dream for children and adults alike. Ice skating, lights, music and markets bring this town onto par with other European Xmas markets. Combine it with a stay at The majestic Esplanade hotel and you'll have an unforgettable holiday experience for the whole family.

This city is one to watch! I work in top end luxury hotels but this apartment and owners deserve all the credit for the top end finishes, eye to details, "nothing is missing" and is of a great quality.

Bottom line, hugely reccomended!. We were sorry after leaving that we should have stayed longer! Clean and comfortable room with welcome air conditioning as the outside temperatures were very high. The fridge and safe were a good bonus. The breakfast was good with cereal, fruit, yogurts, cheese, ham , boiled eggs and various breads and pastries.

The proprieter was very helpful in recommending excellent restaurants and general information snd arranging taxis. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city centre but cheap, easy to use trams are also available and frequent. Zagreb: charming capital of Croatia. Charming even in the station area which is by no means being in a scruffy and dangerous area.

Hotel Central is just front right from here. A modern building, my room was firstly a single in my second stay I was given a double! Nice breakfast buffet in the morning with both sweet and salty food. The bed was comfortable, the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, and the breakfast was great! I enjoyed the breakfast a lot! They even made a special order for me the next day. The front desk is very helpful in arranging the taxi from the airport and the taxi driver himself was great.

Romantic Zagreb – St. Valentines or any other day

The room was nice and clean and I slept well in the bed, the whole hotel had a very boutique feel to it with nice touches of care. Beautiful, spacious apartment in the city center. Walking distance to most everything. Breakfast and taxis available just a couple of blocks away at the Palace Hotel.

Sven met us at the building to show us the keys, lights, and more. Definitely recommend. Checkout was as simple as slipping the keys in a secured box. The best hotel in Croatia. Great small Boutique hotel one of the most beautiful hotels I've been in. The staff is wonderful helped us with whatever we needed always Pleasantly and with a smile. Ive been in a lot of hotels of all kinds don't remember such a great staff in other hotels. Stayed in junior suite in new portion of hotel, which is away from main square which can be noisy.

There are tram stops near the hotel but I would have preferred to have stayed nearer to the city centre. Pleasant staff and solid breakfast buffet offer solid compensation for some negative aspects.
